Sigung Mark Smith, Chief Instructor & Owner
A direct disciple of the late Grand Master Kalaii K. Griffin, Sigung Mark Smith has over 40 years of experience instructing and training in Martial Arts.
He holds a 7th Dan (Degree) in Kajukenbo, a 3rd Dan in Chinese Kenpo. Sigung Smith has also been inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame and holds numerous grand championship titles.
Sigung’s school, Black Dragon's Kajukenbo, was founded in 2009 and is a family run school in Westfield, Massachusetts. His entire family trains in Kajukenbo, including his son Sifu Jeramy Smith who is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt, and his daughter Erica Mayhew who is a 1st Dan Blackbelt.
He is a passionate swordsman and an advocate for teaching all students how to protect themselves in real world scenarios.
He dedicates most of his time to the children. Sigung Smith believes that the discipline and respect taught at the dojo transcends into daily life and holds the children accountable for their behavior at school and at home. He also believes children should be empowered to defend themselves, and teaches bullying prevention along with abduction prevention.
Sigung Smith lives to teach and train. He has an incredible rapport with his students. He holds his students to a high standard, pushing them to be their personal best. In return, he provides some of the best and most insightful Martial Arts instruction in New England.
